Health Promotions
The Health and Wellness Center is responsible for administering the Air Force Health Promotions Program. The objective is to furnish individuals with knowledge and skills that encourage healthy lifestyle behaviors. Services include tobacco cessation classes, worksite assessment tools, wellness initiatives, fitness classes, nutrition education and individual consultations, stress management, and chronic disease prevention. Class offerings include in-person and virtual options through Microsoft Teams.
Registered Dietitian Individual Appointments
Patients may be seen for a variety of health conditions, including:
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
- Renal disease
- Eating disorders
- Prediabetes
- Weight management
- Nutritional deficiencies
- Inflammation
- Food allergies/sensitivities/intolerance
- Gastrointestinal-related symptoms and disease: IBS, IBD, heartburn, acid reflux, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, excess gas
- Meal planning and more
Performance nutrition appointments are also available. This includes the In-Body to measure your body composition. These appointments are held first thing in the morning. To get the most accurate results, patients should not perform any strenuous activity, eat, or consume or use caffeine, nicotine, or stimulant-containing supplements six hours before the appointment.

Referral Process
Dietetic individual and group class appointments and programs at the McChord Clinic don’t need a referral from the patient's primary care provider.
Who can be seen here?
All active duty service members and National Guard and Reserve service members on active duty orders can be seen for Health Promotion Services. All DoD cardholders welcome to most classes.
